Alex Gonzalez, 53, passed into glory on December 26th at 2:30 am in Des Moines, Iowa.

Alex was born August 9th, 1968 in Brownsville, Texas to Fernando Gonzalez and Julia Orozco Gonzalez. He moved to Austin, Texas, where he met the love of his life at Church on the Rock in 1989. Alex sang there for many years with the praise and worship team, and was a youth leader along with Kristen Gonzalez, and it was here where their love grew.

Alex & Kristen’s wedding on August 24th, 1991 was memorable, and the guys will never forget those shorts. Pastor Hart was a huge influence in Alex’s life, that he carried with him into Heaven. Many friendships were made there, and he considered them brothers and sisters and loved them dearly.

Alex and Kristen moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1992, and along came his princess, Moriah Hope Gonzalez, in 1994. It was evident that he had the most profound love for Moriah, you could see it in his huge smile and the way his eyes lit up whenever he spoke of her or saw her. She completed the trio of King, Queen, and Princess.

Alex and Kristen moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1992, and along came his princess, Moriah Hope Gonzalez, in 1994. It was evident that he had the most profound love for Moriah, you could see it in his huge smile and the way his eyes lit up whenever he spoke of her or saw her. She completed the trio of King, Queen, and Princess. His love for his family and friends was abundant, and his joyful laugh could be heard across the room. He was cherished by his Queen, and as Superman in the eyes of his Princess.

Preceding him in death was his Mom and Dad; his second Mom and Dad, Bernard and Benna Coop; and his nephew, Mathew Waligora. Survivors are his wife, Kristen; daughter, Moriah (Erick); and his siblings; Mona, Leticia (Beto), Fernando (Martina), Jorge, Steve (Wendy); his loving sister-in-laws; brother-in-law; and their families; and a host of dear friends whom he considered family.
